Well, 2016 it is time to say goodbye!
This has been a challenging year for my family with many struggles and we are ready to say goodbye and look to the future.
Looking back I have to remember that amongst the struggles we still managed to make fun memories.
Here are some of my happy moments from 2016:
Taking our kids to see Monster Jam: We had a fun filled day in Vancouver where we got to experience taking the kids down into the pit to see all the trucks and drivers up close and personal. This was a big highlight for the kids.
Attended the Healthy Family Expo: The past two years this has been a fun one on our list. The kids love checking out the kid zone, taking in some shows and having a wonderful family day. We look forward to what this year will bring.
Strawberry picking at Maan Farms: When my father and step-mother came for a visit in May we went to this local farm for the first time. Having my Dad living in Nova Scotia makes these type of memories that more precious.
Planted my first vegetable garden: This Spring I tried my hand at planting my first vegetable garden. Though it was not perfect I learned a lot for coming years, and look forward to getting my hands dirty this Spring.
Attended TUTS for the first time: For years I have been wanting to make my way to Stanley Park to take part in the magic that is TUTS. And this year I got to have some kid-free evenings and enjoy my love of the theater.
Apple picking at Willow View Farms: This Summer we spent a day discovering another local farm during the apple harvest season.
Attending the kids first Vancouver Canucks game: This fall with the help of our Kidsworld44 Pass we were able to attend a Vancouver Canucks pre-season game.
A visit to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park: Another fun event by the team at Kidsworld, we had a morning spend above in the tree tops discovering our local Rainforest.

We are looking forward to the New Year that will start off this year with my son turning 8 and myself turning 36 and a family vacation to sunny Arizona to see my sister get married.
I am not much for making New Year’s resolutions, but I do have some goals for this coming year. After trying to find the good in our year I have discovered that we really need to travel more. So our goal for this coming year is to have more day trips and discover new places near and far.
