As summer vacation comes to an end our minds quickly shift into back to school mode. It’s time to prepare ourselves and our children for the new school year ahead.
It is one thing to get all the supplies required by your child’s school but there is much more to consider when preparing. We thought we would compile a list of items that we feel are must have to create a successful school year.
8 Must Have Items For Back to School:
Little Jots – Lunchbox Note Cards: If you have a child who suffers from anxiety, or just one that you want to stay connected with, Little Jots is a must have. Make your child feel special with one of the pre-written lunchbox notes or write your own special message on one of the included blank notecards.
Easy Daysies Magnetic Routine Charts: Every parent knows that morning rush struggle. These magnetic routine charts will help keep your child on track each day, which will help reduce the stress for the whole family. Make your child’s day easier and more organized, while teaching them independence in a way that’s fun.
Contigo Water Bottles: A lot of schools now have a “water only” policy to encourage a healthier lifestyle. These water bottles are designed with a child in mind. We all know that a child may grow up but they don’t outgrow spills. For older kids, I use the Autoseal and my for younger children the Autospouts are perfect.
Heys Backpack & Lunch Bag: A backpack and lunch bag are a huge ticket item when it comes to back to school, as they are used and abused by your child each day. These are items that you don’t want to skimp out on (unless of course, you want to be buying a new bag every few months). These backpacks are made with high-quality materials such as 420D Jacquard Fabric, Silver Fabric, and PVC; which further enhances the life of the backpack. They are lightweight and spacious, they have printed side pouch pockets to hold water bottles, and they have a name tag kids can personalize (great for your labels).
Litterless Lunch Containers: It has been estimated that on average a school aged child using disposable lunch items generates about 67 lbs of waste per school year. We try our best to do our part to reduce our carbon footprint as much as we can. In our house, we use Tupperware lunch containers for our boy’s school lunches. These containers are perfect for little hands with easy to use tabs to open them.
Stick 2 Me Labels: No parent wants to spend hundreds of dollars on back to school only to find in a few short weeks that their child misplaced some items. Stick 2 Me offers 12 different design collections which include a complete set of 200 assorted labels. This package is ideal for school or daycare, identifying clothing, shoes, pencils, dishes, and many other objects. There is also a clothing set available, which includes 200 assorted regular and iron-on labels so that you can conveniently label all clothing items, from head to toe.
As you prepare for back to school this year I am sure that your goal will be the same as mine, keeping your children’s items out of the lost and found pile. So why not support a Canadian Mompreneur while protecting the items that you spent your hard earned money on.
More Time Moms Family Organizer: This is the original, best-selling and by far best tool on the market to help you keep your family schedule a priority and keep an organized home. The squares on the calendar are bigger than average, providing enough room to fit something for each member of our family on any given day. I love that it has a big pocket in the back that you can use to store loose papers or appointment cards until you put them on the calendar. There are so many reminder stickers and lots of space to write reminder notes for yourself or a “Honey Do List”. If you do not have a ton of space you can also have the option of folding it in half and using this half a month at a time.
