BC, Metro Vancouver- Top Berry Farms

U-pick season is upon us, one of my favorite times of the year. Each year I like to get out to a local farm with my family and spend the afternoon picking some locally grown juicy berries. This is a great way to teach your children about where food comes from and supporting your local community.

Here are a few things you should know before for you go:

  • Make sure that you pack hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water; berry picking is hard work.
  • Gather up some buckets or containers. Most farms will supply buckets at a charge, but only as supplies last.
  • No Pets Allowed! Leave your furry little friends at home on this day trip.
  • Remind your little ones that berries are for the buckets and not their mouths.
  • Bring wipes. Little hands and faces get very dirty.
  • Bring a tarp or plastic to lay down in the back of your car to keep the dirt at bay.
