Christmas Parades in Metro Vancouver {2016}

With the holiday season upon us, so brings many different holiday events. One of my families favorites are the tree lighting ceremonies and the parades.

Here is a list of some of the parades happening in the Metro Vancouver area this year: 


Rotary Christmas Parade – This is one of the biggest and most anticipated events in the community each year.

When: December 3, 2016
Where: Check here for parade route
Time: 7:00 pm Parade starts at 6:00 pm


Magic of Christmas Parade & Celebration – City of Langley’s annual Magic of Christmas festivities. This is an exciting event that is geared towards bringing the community together to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season.

When: December 3, 2016
Where: Downtown Langley
Time: 7:00 pm Parade starts at 6:00 pm

Maple Ridge

Maple Ridge Christmas Festival Santa Parade –  Families can enjoy free family fun including – complimentary beverages (remember to bring your own mug to save waste!), Christmas music at the Bandstand, a visit and photo with Santa, a live Nativity Scene, many beautiful decorations and of course the Parade. The parade starts at 6:00 pm and this year will include over 70 entries.

When: December 3, 2016
Where: Memorial Peace Park
Time: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm; Parade starts at 6:00 pm


Surrey’s Santa Parade of Lights

The parade consists of an amazing collection of lighted trucks and big rigs which start at the Cloverdale Town Centre and end up in Holland Park. There will be a traditional parade made up of a collection of lighted fire trucks, ambulances, horse-drawn carriages, vintage vehicles, floats, community group, dance groups, mascots, R/C vehicles and sporting groups who lead the way for Santa Claus to come into town!

There will be two primary charities: Surrey Food Bank and the Surrey Christmas bureau. Please bring any donations.

When: December 4, 2016
Where: Cloverdale Town Centre, 176A Street and 60 Avenue
Time: 5:00 pm

Big Rig for Kids Lighted Truck Parade – The trucks will parade along University Drive.  They will be stopping in front of the Library for around an hour – 7pm until just after 8pm for everyone to enjoy.

When: December 4, 2016
Where: Downtown Surrey BIA, 13450 104 Avenue
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm


Rogers Santa Claus Parade – The Parade has more than 3,500 participants. This year’s Parade will feature more than 50 marching bands, choirs, festive floats, and community groups. The festivities begin at 10:00am with two hours of family entertainment at the Coast Capital Savings Christmas Square at the 800 block of Robson Street (between Howe and Hornby on the south side of the Vancouver Art Gallery).

When: December 4, 2016
Where: The Parade is in downtown Vancouver, located just blocks from the Burrard, City Centre, Granville and Waterfront SkyTrain stations.
Time: 10:00 am; Parade starts at 12:00 pm
