Happening this month a local initiative that you’re not going to want to miss. To help raise awareness about animal conservation initiatives, the Greater Vancouver Zoo is asking kids, kids at heart or anyone who loves building to create an LEGO© sculpture on the theme of animal conservation. The sculptures will be on display for everyone to enjoy and will be judged by a panel for exciting prizes!
“This event will help by providing more awareness for the programs we are involved with, but
ultimately we hope to encourage appreciation of the environment and motivate our guests to get
more involved with any form of conservation efforts,” says Marketing and Communication
Manager, Jody Henderson.
Time for LEGO© lovers to put their Master Builder hats on and join the fun! Use your own LEGO© bricks and elements to build an original creation at home. Then bring your completed creation to the Greater Vancouver Zoo for display and judging at 8:30am on July 30, 2016.
It will remain on display at the competition until 11:30am, at which time the winning creations will be determined by the judges. Prizes will be immediately awarded to the winners, and you will then be free to retrieve your creation.
Each year my family makes a trip to the Great Vancouver Zoo a part of our Summer Staycation. We put on our walking shoes, pack a picnic lunch and set out for an adventure. This year I think we might try something new and rent a quadra-cycle and ride around the zoo in style.
If your family is planning a trip to the zoo this summer why not join in on the fun and give back at the same time. Your ticket price includes admission to the zoo as well as a $10 donation to the animal conservation projects. Each will also receive $5.00 in Toy Trader Bucks.
