How I Fall
Written by Anne Eliot
Cam Campbell has an impossible crush. He has no life outside of football, which he spends all his time playing. But in junior year, he decides he’s going to get Ellen Foster’s phone number. Then a new girl shows up and ruins his plan. She’s Irish, she’s awkward, she’s glitter-crazed. And she insists that Cam and Ellen become best friends—with her!
After one interaction Ellen Foster, Cam realizes that the smart, beautiful girl that he’s crushing on is actually very fragile. He decides that his feelings should remain a secret.
Then Cam, Ellen and the new girl are assigned to work together on a group photography project. When the rumours start to spread through the school about how ridiculous the new girl is. Cam convinces Ellen to protect her. Suddenly, working on the project makes hanging out, texting, talking—and even high school—seem fun and completely normal when it’s anything but normal.
Cam and Ellen share the perfect kiss. He tells her his secrets and his dreams. He makes the type of promises that may be impossible to keep as a sixteen year old. Will he hurt her?
High school senior, Ellen Foster, has spent over six months recovering from the accident that broke her legs. Now she’s ready to heal her broken heart. She and her best friends are off to attend a summer photography workshop that is being held at a university. Ellen is determined to find a new love interest. She meets a charming, good looking photography student named Harrison Shaw at the dorm—and he likes her!
Ellen thinks she has everything she wanted. Her summer program is amazing, she’s going after her next scholarship, and she’s with a new guy who she really likes. But when she kisses Harrison, she remembers how Cam Campbell used kiss her—better, sweeter, in a way that made her feel like she could fly…
Then Cam shows up at the university. He’s distant, different and very afraid to hurt Ellen again. He asks her if they could be friends despite the past and Ellen agrees. But after all they’ve been through, can they ever be just friends?
