What better time to try on my new Hush Puppies Lindy Chamber boots than after the first snowfall of the season!
I excitedly slipped my feet into the knee-high leather riding boots, and as I zipped them up I marvelled at the fact that I finally have a pair of boots that aren’t too loose around my calves. (Don’t stop reading just yet if you have thicker calves – Hush Puppies has made these stunning boots available with a wider calf as well, so that each of us can find the best fit for our beautiful curves!)
I have a thing for tall boots, and end up buying at least two or three pairs every fall. I walk a lot, all year long, in all types of weather – so I’m pretty tough on my footwear. In only one week I’ve already logged a few hours of outdoor walking time wearing my Hush Puppies – through snow, slush and rain.
Luckily for me, these boots are made with both style and comfort in mind. They’re waterproof, so they keep my legs and feet warm and dry; and the footbeds are well cushioned, so with each step I feel like I am placing my foot on a very firm pillow. They also have great treads on the bottom so there has been no slipping through the snow, slush, or on wet floors.
There are so many great features, but one that stands out for me is that even though the Lindy Chamber boots are waterproof, they’re also breathable. I like to leave my boots and scarves on for most of the day, even if I’m just hanging out at home, because they keep me warm. I usually end up having to take my boots off after a little while because my feet begin to feel suffocated and damp, but that hasn’t happened with my Hush Puppies. I can wear them comfortably throughout the day and I don’t feel the urge to peel my socks off the second my boots come off, because my feet are still dry and comfortable.
So they’re super comfy, but how do they look on? Pretty fabulous in my opinion, but have a look for yourself! I chose the black Lindy Chamber boots, as they suit my wardrobe best; but they are available in a rich, beautiful, dark brown shade as well.
Update: While the boots were listed as being waterproof on the Hushpuppies website at the time this article was written, after a couple of months of wear, I noticed that water would leak through on very wet or snowy days. I would say they are water-resistant, not waterproof, and recommend using a waterproofing product on them occasionally to keep water out.
