One of the most magical parts of the holiday season for me is the beautiful twinkling light displays. I know how much I enjoy driving the car around the neighbourhood to see the displays and in more recent years visiting local attractions for amazing light displays. The past few years, however, I have been lucky enough to enjoy the incredible Lights at Lafarge in my hometown of Coquitlam – for FREE!
The Lights at Lafarge in Coquitlam has really impressed me the past couple years and this year it is phenomenal! With more lights than ever, weekly special events, a beautifully decorated 1.2km trail around the lake and a concession (Thursdays – Sundays 4pm onward) featuring mini donuts, hot chocolate and other treats – I just can’t stay away!
This year’s event features hundreds of thousands of lights wrapping their way around the lake in multiple themed zones that will bring the magic of the holidays to life for you and your loved ones. The best part, it is right off the Evergreen line and is free family fun! Even your dogs, on a leash, are welcome.
If you haven’t been, you really need to add it to your holiday bucket list! I enjoy all the festival light displays offered in the city, but this one is worth the visit!
There are beautiful sections from a blue light waterfall to a lovely dining table with chandelier. The kids will love exploring all the amazing scenes.
Here are some of my photos from last night and last week when we enjoyed the walk.
One of my favourite features is the reused water bottles to create flower lights…
