This past weekend my family ventured out of the Valley and into the big city to experience the Monster Jam event happening at BC Place, and what an experience it was.
We started our visit off with joining the stars of the Monster Jam Tour for a the Party in the Pits that was happening before the main event.
As we descended into the lower bowl at BC Place you could feel the excitement building as we got closer to the pit. Once we arrived in the pit my middle son was in shock and awe at the actual size of the truck and just kept running from truck to truck. We got to meet a few of the drivers and stop for photo ops and autographs.
We took our time going around all the different trucks, but the highlight for my boys was when we came upon Grave Digger! Though we did not stay to meet Dennis Anderson, as there was quite a line up for that, we did stop to have a picture taken with the legendary truck.
Here are a few of our memories from our time in the Pits:
There was a two-hour window in between the Party in the Pits and the main event so we took, this time, to head out to get a bite to eat. When we arrived back at BC Place we grabbed some popcorn and drinks and headed to our seats.
I can not attest for other venues but at BC Place, there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. The view is great down low or in higher seats because of the type of show. There is also a mega screen to see the replays and action as it is happening.
Once we got settled in for the action packed show, she got to enjoy of races, donuts and freestyle competitions with an abundance of turns, jumps, and flips. The highlight of the main event for my boys was when El Toro Loco pulled off a perfect back flip.
If you have never been to a Monster Jam event, I suggest that you bring some sort of ear protection as with all those engines roaring it gets mighty loud. This is a family fun event that I would highly suggest you attend if you have a child that loves trucks or racing. This is a tradition that I hope to keep for my sons as they grow older.
