I first heard about Rocky Mountain Soap Company during a product review event that I attended last summer. I had the opportunity to try the Lavender Body Scrub, and I fell in love. (You can read about that experience here.) I was even more excited when I realized that it is made by a Canadian company – one that only makes 100% natural, toxin-free personal care products!
Over the holidays I had the pleasure of trying out more of the Rocky Mountain Soap bath and body items, and my kids and I are completely hooked.
The first product that I reached for was the Blood Orange Sugar Body Scrub. It has a granular texture that exfoliates skin and leaves it feeling silky smooth and well moisturized. I really love the citrus fragrance that lingers on my body after using this product.
Next I tried the two bar soaps that were sent to me. I don’t typically use soap in this format as I find it gets used up too quickly, but these ones seem to be lasting longer than others I’ve tried. With very little scent, the Goat’s Milk Soap is mild, and great for sensitive skin. I like the clean feeling I have after using it to wash with, and appreciate that I can use it on my oldest daughter’s eczema-prone skin without it causing a reaction. The Lavender Soap is a naturally scented bar that exfoliates your skin with pieces of lavender flower! This one is great for acne-prone skin as it contains Yarrow Herb, a natural astringent that helps reduce oiliness.
The Blush Lip Gloss has been following me around in my coat pocket since the day I first tried it. With a subtle pomegranate scent, the gloss makes my lips softer while adding a lovely sheen and just a hint of color. The Strawberry Lip Butter is now in the possession of my daughters, who have claimed it as their own. They love the fruity scent of this moisturizing lip balm.
Taking baths is an activity that I don’t often have time to indulge in with our busy family schedule, and I was happy to use product testing as an excuse to make some time to relax and unwind. Using the Ylang Ylang Bath Salts or the Palmarosa Bath Gem to soak in took the feeling of being pampered at home to a whole new level. I highly recommend indulging in one of these feminine, floral scented products for a relaxing experience the next time you slip into the tub.
The Lavender Hand and Body Wash is my personal favourite out of all the items that my family has tested over the last few weeks. When I first squeezed a dab into my palm it smelled only of lavender, but when I rinsed it off I noticed a citrus scent as well. I thought I must be imagining things, so I read the ingredients, and sure enough this product contains sweet orange! The citrus-floral scent is heavenly so I keep this soap by the sink and enjoy the aroma every time I wash my hands.
