With the warm weather here so starts the outdoor activities, one of my boys favorite past time is blowing bubbles outside. During our move last Summer, I threw out a lot of things that I wish I would have packed. One of them being the number of bubble containers and wands that my boys had hoarded over the years.
Each year I make our bubbles but since I wisely threw all the containers and wands away I had to start from scratch. Walmart sells a great jug with a spout with wands and cups for 6 kids for $10.
I love making homemade bubbles because I find they blow the best bubbles and they are much cheaper on the pocket book. I made our bubbles for this Summer for under $6.
Here is the recipe that I use for our bubbles each year:
What you will need:
- 1/2 cup of Dish soap
- 2.5 cups of Water
- 1/2 cup of Corn Syrup
- Microwave-safe bowl
- Jug (Walmart has a jug with wands & cups for $10)
- Bubble wands
- Cups for bubble mixture
Mix 2.5 cups of water with 1/2 cup of corn syrup in a microwave-safe bowl.
Heat in microwave for 4 minutes.
Remove from microwave and stir mixture again.
Add 1/2 cup of dish soap to mixture and mix.
Pour mixture into Jug and you are ready for your ready.
I ended up making 4 batches to fill up this jug in hopes that it will last us the Summer.
